Based on feedback from potential employers, students who complete their studies often struggle to demonstrate their knowledge when applying for jobs. The primary reason is that the traditional academic approach involves acquiring diverse learning outcomes across various courses, without a cohesive project that allows students to showcase their integrated skills.
To address this gap, the Electronic Business and Software Engineering programme includes an independent Student Business-Technology Project (PTP) that runs throughout the studies. This project represents a crucial component of the programme, as it combines business and technological aspects, with teachers from different disciplines guiding students in realising their entrepreneurial ideas.
The PTP project begins in the second semester, within subjects focused on economy and entrepreneurship. Students independently propose, select and present the topic of their project, which they then develop until the completion of their studies. The topics can cover a wide range of entrepreneurial endeavours, such as opening an online store or car rental service, starting a family farm or providing services to the retail industry, among other ideas that students find compelling.

Within the Final Thesis course, which carries 8 ECTS credits, students dedicate 2 ECTS credits (equivalent to approximately 60 hours of study) to the final structuring and presentation of their PTP project. This process allows students to go through the complete cycle of realising a business idea, which enables them to gain a deeper understanding of problems and solutions in a real business environment.
The Final Thesis, including the PTP project, culminates in a comprehensive portfolio of the student's work. This portfolio can be crucial when applying for jobs, as it provides potential employers with insights into the student's actual knowledge and skills.
