Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching – Report – Tanzania

Continuation of international cooperation with the University of Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania - focus on sustainable tourism

In the period from 19 to 28 November 2024, as part of the Erasmus+ staff mobility for the purpose of learning of the Faculty of Tourism and Rural Development in Požega, the Vice-Dean for Science and International Cooperation, Dr. Marko Šostar, and the Vice-Dean for Development and Business, Dr. Berislav Andrlić, visited the partner institution, the University of Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania, which implements related study programs in the field of tourism and marketing at the Faculty of Economics. The teachers held lectures for students on topics from consumer behavior in tourism, specific forms of tourism and the role of the media in promoting tourist destinations, presenting examples of good practice in tourist destinations in the Republic of

Croatia.


A special focus in the discussion with students was on trends in today's tourism - digitalization and smart tourism, the impact of global crises on travel, green transition in tourism and frontier tourism. After the lecture, a tour of the university campus, teaching facilities, student dormitory and university administration was organized. During the meeting with the teachers, the possibilities of future international projects and joint scientific publications were discussed. The entire Erasmus week was coordinated by David S. Muya from the International Relations Office, who had previously been in Požega for Erasmus week.
