International Cooperation and Erasmus+ Mobility of Teaching and Nonteaching Staff at Ordu University, Turkiye

From 22 to 26 September 2025, an Erasmus+ teaching mobility took place at the partner institution, Ordu University in Turkey, Faculty of Tourism, program Gastronomy and Culinary Arts. The mobility was attended by Assoc. Prof. Valentina Obradović, PhD, Helena Marčetić, Dipl. Eng., and Assoc. Prof. Josip Mesić, PhD.

The professors delivered lectures on Croatian wines and traditional dishes, with a special emphasis on the links with the culinary heritage of the Ottoman Empire. In addition to lectures, they also participated in teaching activities and practical exercises in gastronomy.

During their stay, meetings were held with the deans and vice-deans of the Faculty of Tourism and the Faculty of Agriculture, where opportunities for future cooperation were discussed.

The mobility was also attended by the institutional Erasmus+ coordinator, Ivana Mikić, who, in addition to professional training in the International Relations Office, took part in the signing of two bilateral agreements – at the faculty (Acting dean, Prof. Ufuk UGUR) and university (Rector, Prof. dr. Orhan BAS) levels. These agreements refer to cooperation in scientific research projects, the organization of conferences, as well as the exchange of academic staff and students.

The participants of the mobility also had the opportunity to visit numerous cultural and tourist attractions in the city of Ordu and its surroundings. During the visit, new student mobilities were agreed upon, along with further cooperation at various levels.

Such mobilities further strengthen the international recognition of the Faculty, improve the quality of the teaching process, and create new opportunities for the development of scientific and professional cooperation with international partners. They also represent an important segment in the implementation of the University’s and Faculty’s strategy, focused on internationalization, strengthening academic excellence, and expanding international partnerships.
