The Embassy in Vienna Marked the Launch of the OrangeTheWorld Initiative with a Presentation of the Faculty

On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, an informational and poetic evening titled “Through Poetic Words, STOP Violence Against Women” was held at the Embassy. Zrinko Kapetanić, Head of the Okučani Police Station and poet, gave a lecture on violence, providing valuable information on the legislative framework as well as measures of education, prevention, and support.

During the continuation of the evening, poets from the Croatian diaspora and their guests read their works, while the musical group Dubrovački kavaljeri enriched the program with their performance.

“Such events are important because they raise awareness and shed light on the global social issue of violence against women,” emphasized Ambassador Daniel Glunčić in his welcome address. The initiative “Through Poetic Words, STOP Violence Against Women” originated from Lidija Puđak from Zagreb, while the initiator and project lead in Austria is Vienna-based poet Maja Epp, who also hosted the program.

Akademska vina Zlatne doline and FUTURRA study programs were presented as an excellent link and foundation for future cooperation. Representing the Faculty and performing as an independent artist (poet), second-year Tourism student Luka Madžarević presented himself with his own poems. This was Luka’s fourth promotion of this kind, demonstrating how young people today, in a modern world and environment, continue to find their place in noble forms and categories of art.
