Indian Students Develop Project Ideas at FTRR within the Course “Development Projects and EU Funds”

As part of the course Development Projects and EU Funds, international students from India attending classes at the Faculty of Tourism and Rural Development in Požega (FTRR) worked on the development of two innovative project ideas focused on sustainable growth in the food sector.

The project ideas were titled: Center for the Processing and Valorization of Food Industry Waste – “BioVal” and Educational and Production Center for Functional Food and Local Food Chains – “NutriHub”. In the first phase of their work, students applied the Project Cycle Management (PCM) methodology and prepared the following: Stakeholder Analysis; Problem Analysis; Objective Analysis and Strategy Selection.

Through a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach, the students gained hands-on experience in developing project concepts applicable to various EU funding instruments and international grant programs. The projects emphasized circular economy principles, functional food innovation, and empowering local producers through education, sustainability, and knowledge transfer.

These activities represent a significant step in the internationalization of the curriculum and FTRR’s commitment to connecting students from different parts of the world with real-world challenges in rural and agri-food development.
