The Faculty of Tourism and Rural Development in Požega welcomed professors from two partner universities from the Republic of Türkiye: Mardin Artuklu University – Emircan Yilmaz, Gunevi Guzel, and Dilan Arabacioglu, and Süleyman Demirel University – Ömer Faruk Acar.
During the visit, the already established cooperation with Süleyman Demirel University from Isparta was confirmed and further strengthened. The collaboration is based on shared interests in the areas of international mobility, student and staff exchange, and professional internships. As part of the meeting, special attention was given to the topic "The Algorithmic Mind: How AI is Decoding and Shaping Consumer Psychology in Marketing", further emphasizing the interdisciplinary connection between tourism, marketing, and business informatics.
On the other hand, the visit marked the establishment of initial contact and a new academic partnership with Mardin Artuklu University, primarily due to the compatibility of study programs in the fields of tourism and enogastronomy. Meeting topics focused on the exchange of knowledge and experiences in the tourism sector, opening opportunities for joint projects, mobilities, and scientific-research collaboration.
The hosts from the Faculty were Assoc. Prof. Marko Šostar, PhD, Vice Dean for Science and International Cooperation and academic Erasmus+ coordinator, and Ivana Mikić, Head of the Department for Projects and Programmes and Erasmus+ coordinator.
This visit represents a significant contribution to the continued internationalisation of the Faculty of Tourism and Rural Development and to the enhancement of higher education quality through international cooperation and the exchange of good practices.
