VIMAL field teaching in Petrinja

On Monday and Tuesday, October 14 and 15, 2024, as part of the preparations for the 5th International Conference on Rural Tourism Development, 49 students and 17 professors from the fields of tourism, marketing, and rural development from 12 higher education institutions from the Republic of Croatia, the Republic of Slovenia, and the Republic of Serbia participated in field teaching through guided tours and presentations at 3 locations in the municipality of Topusko, 2 locations in the city of Sisak, 2 locations in the city of Petrinja, and 2 locations in the city of Hrvatska Kostajnica and the municipality of Majur.

The aim was to familiarize themselves with the tourist offerings and identify potential for further development of rural tourism. Our students Sara Antunović, Lorena Šikanja, and Gabriela Troha gained insights into the issues faced by selected stakeholders in the tourism offer and will prepare and present proposals and solutions at the Student Conference, which will take place as part of the RRT Conference on November 21 and 22 at the Faculty of Management in Tourism and Hospitality in Opatija.
