As part of the scientific research project KOTUR – “Enhancing the Competitiveness of Tourist Destinations,” Berislav Andrlić from the Faculty of Tourism and Rural Development in Požega conducted field research and held expert meetings in Vienna with representatives of institutions relevant to positioning Croatia on the Austrian tourism market.
At the Representative Office of the Croatian Chamber of Economy in the Republic of Austria, a meeting was held with Maja Bradarić, an expert associate at the Representative Office and an alumna of the Faculty of Tourism and Rural Development in Požega. The meeting focused on the economic and tourism relations between Croatia and Austria, the characteristics of the Austrian market, and opportunities to further strengthen the competitiveness of Croatia’s tourism offering

A second working meeting was held with Branimir Tončinić, Director of the Representative Office of the Croatian National Tourist Board in Austria. Particular emphasis was placed on current trends in tourism demand, the perception of Croatia among Austrian tourists, the competitive position of Croatian destinations, and the factors influencing the choice of Croatia as a tourist destination.
The fieldwork in Vienna provided valuable professional insights that will be used in further research activities within the KOTUR project, as well as in developing recommendations for enhancing the competitiveness of Croatian tourist destinations on the international market.
