From October 6 to 10, 2025, within the Erasmus+ staff mobility for teaching program, Assoc. Prof. Mirjana Radman-Funarić, Ph.D., and Mirela Mezak Matijević, Ph.D., from the Faculty of Tourism and Rural Development in Požega, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, visited the University of Economics – Varna in Bulgaria, a partner institution of the Faculty.
During the mobility, a meeting was held at the university to discuss the existing and future cooperation with the Faculty of Tourism and Rural Development in Požega. The focus was on strengthening Erasmus+ collaboration in the field of teaching and joint scientific research, as well as exploring opportunities for cooperation on other projects. On this occasion, the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek and the Faculty of Tourism and Rural Development in Požega were presented.
Assoc. Prof. Mirjana Radman-Funarić, Ph.D., delivered a lecture to students on the topic Social Capital and Economic Growth, emphasizing the comparison of indicators between Croatia and Bulgaria. Mirela Mezak Matijević, Ph.D., gave a lecture on The Difference between a Partnership and Capital Companies in the Croatian Legal System, highlighting the differences between the Croatian and Bulgarian legal systems.
The meetings and lectures were attended by Teodora Staykova, Coordinator at the International Cooperation Office, Assoc. Prof. Radan Miryanov, Ph.D., Prof. Tanka Milkova, and Todor Djankov.
In addition to the official part of the visit, which included teaching and meetings, the participants also took the opportunity to explore various cultural and historical landmarks in Varna, enriching their mobility experience with valuable insights into Bulgarian culture and tradition.
