As part of the international Erasmus project in the field of education, we were visited by Prof. Dr. Erdogan Ekiz, Dean of the Hospitality Management and Tourism School at Central Asian University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and Prof. Dr. Orhan Uludag, Vice Dean for Research.
During their visit, they delivered engaging lectures and workshops for students on consumer behavior in tourism and tourism destination management, including examples from the tourism practices of the city of Tashkent and the Republic of Uzbekistan, followed by a reception with Dean Ante Lončarić.
As part of the visit program, after being received by Mayor Borislav Miličević, they toured the Požega House and the Požega City Museum, where they learned about the cultural heritage of the city of Požega and explored opportunities for joint international projects in the fields of tourism and sustainable development.
They also visited the Vinum Academicum teaching and research base, where they were introduced to the wine production process and current scientific projects in the areas of wine tourism and digitalization.
The entire program was coordinated by Vice Dean for Science and International Cooperation Marko Šostar, Vice Dean for Development and Business Affairs Berislav Andrlić, Erasmus Coordinator Ivana Mikić, and Business and Procurement Associate Milan Paun. During the visit, meetings were held to prepare a new Erasmus project for 2026, which will include student and staff exchanges, the organization of joint conferences and publications, and other forms of scientific collaboration such as editorial work, peer reviewing in academic journals, and similar activities.
